New Specialty Food and Wine Store in Boerne to use Limestone Racks from France to Display Wines
Houston, TX (PRWEB) September 25, 2007 -- Specialty Food & Wine in Boerne, Texas, is bringing the limestone elements of a French wine cave to central Texas.
All of the wines in the store will be stored and displayed on a limestone racking system that is used in some of the oldest and finest names in French wines as well as The French Senate, Four Season Hotels, Casino Loeuws, Monaco and The Royal Palace of Madrid.
"I wanted my store to be different from every other food and wine store but at the same time to be comfortable and warm for my customers. These racks or alcoves will give the store a unique look while providing the best wine storage available on the market," said Greg Holman, owner of Specialty Food & Wine.
The racking systems, or alcoves, are made of architecturally cast limestone obtained from the world famous Comblanchien Quarries located in Cote de Nuits, Burgundy, France. Both the quality and density of this material offer an important inert thermal mass needed to capture and the reradiate the temperature of your cellar down through the bottles, creating a uniform and constant environment for the wine to age. Some of the greatest chateaus of France;Domaine de la Romanée Conti, SCI Château de Vosne Romanée, Chateau RAUSAN-SEGLA, Maison Louis JADOT, and Veuve Cliquot Ponsard have implemented this system in their facilities to ensure the highest standard of bottle aging for their wines and Champagnes.

"This wine storage system is ideal for Specialty Food & Wine because it is functional, attractive and good for the wines. Greg will be the first wine store in Texas that is using the racking. Most wine stores use wood or metal racks or some variation," said Jost Lunstroth of Vineyard Wine Cellars. Lunstroth is the Texas distributor for the Dalst products and his team has installed the alcoves in the store.
"I will be storing and displaying about 100 wine types in the store and it is very important that all of my wines be stored correctly so they age properly and be visible to the customer. These racks accomplish that and with flair," said Holman.
